New Comic Wednesdays

Blackest Night ended and the Brightest day begins.  The Siege is almost over and the Heroic Age starts.  Now comes New Comic Wednesdays, a follow up to Free Comic Book Day. Every Wednesday new comics hit the stands.  But for various reasons, the release day has lost some of it’s excitement.  Due to advance sneak peeks, cover images, and lots of early coverage, the thrill of getting the new books the day they come out has worn down.  New Comic Wednesdays is designed to rekindle anticipation.

Check out what’s new:

  • 25% OFF ALL NEW RELEASES: New comics, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, and hard covers are all 25% off the day of their release.
  • WEEKLY SPECIALS: Brand new deals all the time.
  • VARIANT GIVEAWAYS: Every purchase enters you in a drawing for this week’s variant covers.
  • SNACKS AND TREATS: We’ll have cookies, doughnuts, candy, and other awesome goodies.
  • NEW COMICS ON RACK @ 10AM: Come in early and the books will be ready for you.
  • MORE COMICS YOU WANT:  We’ve got the big titles in-stock.

Obviously with Brightest Day and Heroic Age, DC and Marvel offer lots of action-packed storylines.

Are you ready for the War of the Supermen?  It’s a weekly 4-issue miniseries featuring a 100 minute war between Earth and the remaining Kryptonians. Each issue represents 25 minutes of real time.  The #0 issue is free on FCBD to kick it all off.

How about the Return of Bruce Wayne?  Grant Morriosn continues his legendary Batman run with a 6-issue series taking Bruce from caveman to pirate and beyond.  Each issue has a different artist.  This is the story that began in Final Crisis #6.

The Avengers are back in mighty form and a new #1.  Brian Michael Bendis and John Romita Jr. team for the first time ever to reestablish the classic team after all the war and struggle.  Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, and Wolverine headline.

The X-Men: Second Coming storyline is underway, weaving all the x-books together and bringing Cable and Hope face-to-face with destiny.  Everything that’s happened since House of M, through Messiah Complex and Messiah War, comes to a conclusion.

Brightest Day is DC’s new bi-weekly 26 issue book defining the universe after Blackest Night. Under the banner of Brightest Day, the Flash returns, with a new #1.  The Justice League and most of it’s members take on new directions and new challenges.

These stories are just the tip of the iceberg.  Comics are in the midst of a great era of change and rebirth.  New Comic Wednesdays are your gateway into this new world.
