Comic artist Tom Nguyen will be at Paradox on Friday, Octoboer 15 at 3PM. He’ll be signing and greeting for about an hour. Here’s a list of books Tom’s worked on.
This is a first for us. We’ve never had a true, professional comic artist in our shop. Tom’s worked extensively for DC Comics and most recently on lots of Blackest Night stuff. Bring your books in and get them signed. Take the chance to talk to Tom about what it’s like to work at DC and in comics. Also, do yourself a favor before that. Check out Tom’s website which features him and a whole barrage of bikini clad babes.
Tom Nguyen kicks off an exciting weekend. He’s a guest at Valleycon, the local sci-fi fantasy convention. The featured writer at Valleycon is Timothy Zahn, author of the classic Star Wars trilogy Heir to the Empire. The entertainment guest is Mark Shepherd who’s been in just about everything. He’s been in Firefly, Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, and about a million more shows. Valleycon offers panels on writing, art, anime, television, and just about anything fantasy or science fiction. The con has two big game rooms for playing board games, role playing games, miniatures games, or card games. This is the 36th year for Valleycon and it’s going to be one of it’s best. Full information about schedules, pricing, and hotel rooms is available at: www.valleycon.com.
Paradox has a big role at the convention. We’ve got a large dealer room set up this year. We’re using most of the space at our tables to run game demos. We’ll have all kinds of board games set up for you to play with Paradox staffers. Ascension, Ticket to Ride, Zombies, Warhammer, Heroclix, and Magic: The Gathering are just the beginning. We’ll have copies of all these games available to purchase and you can even get discounts for trying them out. The dealers room is free this year so you can come check us out even if your not attending the rest of the convention.
We’re also involved in gaming and panels this year. Rich and Brian will be hosting a panel on Lost and Rich is taking part in a Dr. Who discussion. Yu-Gi-Oh! Regionals takes place on Saturday. There’s a Warhammer tournament and a Heroclix tournament. It’s going to be a busy, full weekend.
That’s it, gang. Hope to see you sometime over the weekend. We’ve got you covered if you’re into comics, cards, gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, and more.
