Session 0 is our kick-off to weekly D&D gaming at 814 Main Avenue and it’s open to every experience level from the grizzled veteran barbarian to the newest wizard-in-training. Every Monday, you’ll find a new adventure, new challenges, & new friends waiting at our tables and you can take the first step in to the world’s greatest fantasy role playing game.

What’s Session 0?

Before the adventure can begin, you need to make a character, join a party, & find a Dungeon Master to guide you. At Session 0, Paradox staff is here to make that all happen.

That’s it. The evening officially kicks off at 6PM but feel free to arrive early and mingle with us and other D&D fans. We’ll make some announcements about what you can expect every week, answer your questions, and above all have a great time with you.

Make a character

You’ll learn how to build a D&D character using Adventurer’s League guidance & you’ll have all the help you need. We recommend bringing along any D&D books you think you’d like to use to build your character, but we’ll also do our best to have lots of books you can look through as well. If it’s your first character, we’ll make sure and get you one-on-one assistance and if you’ve made a hundred characters before, we’ll be excited to see your latest.

Form a party

Every Monday, you’ll take part in Quests from the Infinite Staircase. You’ll go on the adventures within this D&D book along with a group of other players. Our staff will help figure out who you will be playing with to make sure you have a great time. If you’ve come with friends and family, just let us know and we’ll do our best to make sure you play with who you want. If you are brand new, we’ll make sure we get you to the right table so you can have a great time with no worries and learn the ropes of the game.

How to prepare

We recommend having a copy of the D&D Player’s Handbook. There’s 2 editions to choose from so if you already have the 2014 edition or if you recently bought the 2024 edition, either is great. (Also, we’ve got both in stock for you to purchase when you arrive.) You can use other books as well, but the Player’s Handbook is the one book we recommend for every player.

You should also bring a set of dice for D&D. Bring your favorite set or pick up a new one for the occasion.

If you can’t afford those or don’t have access, we’ll do our best to put you at a table where you can get all the help you need.
