Paradox Competitive Commander League

Welcome to our competitive Commander-format league for Magic: the Gathering, meeting at Paradox Comics-N-Cards every Wednesday with pod seating at 6:30 for one 90 minute commander game. Each week, you’ll be placed in a pod of either 3 or 4 players, earn points for attending and victories, and win prizes both weekly and during each season’s playoffs.

Join us for exciting Commander games in a competitive environment! Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the format, the PCL welcomes all. Bring your favorite deck and battle it out with fellow Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts.
We’re excited to bring Commander players together and challenge them to play against new people, challenging your expectations and your skills. You’ll get to see new decks, make new friends, and see where you stand. Leagues will continue all year long and we’re always working to tweak them to make them the best play Commander around.

- Time: 6:15pm (registration starts at 5PM, 6:10pm is the last call to get in line)
- Pod Seating: 6:30pm

League Structure:
- We use a modified Swiss tournament structure with a point-based system:
- Win = 3 points
- Draw = 1 point
- Loss = 0 points
- Playing in a pod = 1 additional point
- Standings and pairings are based on total points earned, with tie-breakers for strength of schedule and win percentage.
Entry Prizes
We’ll distribute prizes nightly to winners as well as random door prizes based on attendance. Then at the end of the ten weeks we’ll have a playoff where you’ll have a chance to win even more prizes. Prizes are usually in the form of promotional cards and store gift cards. We’ll pay out at least 75% of all entry fees between nightly prizes and final prizes, so make sure and tell your friends to help us build an awesome prize pool.
